In a wide ranging interview with Youtuber MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard spoke on a variety of things, including the future of Starfield and what plans they may have.

The chat, which lasted an hour and is a really good listen if you are a Bethesda or Todd Howard fan, was centered around Starfield and what comes next after Shattered Spaces. When asked if Todd and the team are hoping to drop more expansions yearly he replied:

“I would say we want to...more or less. Yeah. How long that continues, hopefully, a very long time, but that’s, we’re planning for the one after this. So there will be another one. And I don’t know that our goal is to answer every question. We sort of look at it and say, ‘Hey what’s the good angle? What do we want to add to the game as far as an experience or a tone?”

He also mentioned that Starfield has now been played by 14 million players and the average playtime per person is over 40 hours. While people debate whether the player count in a single player game matters when it comes to Game Pass numbers, the fact that the average playtime is 40 hours would seem to be pretty encouraging.

Speaking of the upcoming Shattered Spaces DLC we learned that it will take place in a singular city and should take about 7-10 hours for most players to complete it or 20 hours for those that want to 100% it.
