Developed by Midnight Works, Turbo Dash Kart 2024 Racing is your classic kart racing game, reminiscent of Mario Kart. It’s a single-player experience where you kick off with a default driver and kart. As you conquer races, you accumulate funds, which you can then utilize to unlock additional drivers, karts, and upgrades.

The game features 9 racing chapters consisting of 10 races each. The later chapters provide more money for each win. Completing certain chapters automatically unlocks some of the later level karts which will be needed to continue winning the races. With fully upgraded karts it’s not too difficult to come in first in all of the races.

There are several different style races to compete in throughout the game. Sprint races are short 1 lap races. Survival races task you with not coming in last during each lap in order to continue. Finally, head to head races have you going against some of the more skilled AI racers.

Question mark blocks on the courses contain a variety of power ups to help you out. From classic favorites like rockets and speed boosts to tactical tools such as oil slicks, dynamite, and shields, these power-ups add an extra layer of strategy to your racing experience.

I personally found this game to be on the easier side. I’m not usually fantastic at racing games and I was easily winning most races. The lack of local co-op is a real drawback in my opinion. Racing against AI is not nearly as much fun as racing against friends. While the courses vary somewhat I did find them repetitive. I have a hard time not comparing kart racers to the absolute GOAT of Mario Kart. While this game doesn’t live up to that expectation the $10 price point might be low enough to draw people in.
