Lucid is an upcoming indie game that received high praise after bringing its demo to PAX East this past March. Many of the publications and content creators that attended named it their number 1 game of the entire event. The game touts to be the first in a new genre of games called “celestoidvanias” which includes all of the platforming and exploration that metroidvania fans love but with traversal akin to what you find in Celeste.
I played the demo at PAX East and I can say that, if the rest of the game is as good as this demo we’ll have an absolute hit on our hands.
The Lucid Steam page confirmed that a version of the demo will be available to those who’s backed the game on Kickstarter, at Elder Sentinel tier or above, this Friday (5/17/2024).

Eric, developer and head of The Matte Black Studio, confirmed to me that even though the Kickstarter campaign is over, you can still back the game. There’s a paypal pledge button on their Kickstarter page and if you pledge the amount of any of the tiers listed on the page you can still back the game. Access to the demo is available at the Elder Sentinel tier at the price of $55 USD.
I’ve personally backed the Kickstarter so I’ll have access to the demo and I’ll have my thoughts on the demo very soon after its release.
