After you complete all the activities of a town your bond level will be full and receive perks while you are in that town. As you progress through the story, you will be able to choose from helping anti-shogunate, shogunate or staying neutral through the tumultuous era of feudal Japan, which will give you certain perks for the faction of your choice.
