New leak reveals info about cancelled MP Spider-Man game

After the Insomniac leaks last summer, it was widely reported that a Spider-Man multiplayer game had been cancelled, but that was pretty much the extent of the reporting at the time due to all the other information revealed in those leaks.

But the conversation regarding the cancelled Spider-Man game, reportedly named Spider-Man: The Great Web, reignited when an apparent trailer for the game was leaked online, showing off what some of the plans had been, according to Insider Gaming.

In the leaked trailer the planned five-person multiplayer gameplay, which would have been built on a live service foundation, is showed off, along with the concept of the game which focused on a multiverse broken open by the Scarlet Witch and has the player battling the Sinister Six in New York City.

The dialogue from the trailer fully leans into the multiplayer aspects.

"˜New York City. Nothing in the whole world I wouldn't do for this big, beautiful apple. One moment you're scarfing down a slice from Vinnie's, the next - you're stopping a super-villain prison break. Sometimes you can swing it as a lone wolf, but you're way better off with some friends. I've seen the Sinister Six before... But never so methodical - so savage. I don't think I'm going to be enough this time, guys. But together, we just might be.'

The trailer is narrated by Yuri Lowenthal who voices Peter Parker in the Sony Spider-Man games.

As of now Sony has not commented on the leaked trailer which remains unconfirmed as of this time.
